Spicy Chicken Shawarma

This spicy chicken shawarma is flavorful and juicy, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Serve it with pita bread and fresh veggies for a complete experience.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh pita bread, for serving
  • Chopped fresh vegetables, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add yogurt and lemon juice to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Cut chicken into strips and coat with the spice mixture. Marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook chicken strips for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  6. Serve with pita bread and chopped fresh vegetables.
