Lemon Bars

These lemon bars have a tangy lemon filling with a buttery crust, making them a refreshing and sweet treat for any occasion.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for filling)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. For the crust, in a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. For the filling, in a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and flour until smooth.
  5. Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting into bars.
