Chocolate Lava Cakes

These chocolate lava cakes are a decadent dessert with a gooey, molten center. Perfect for special occasions or a sweet indulgence.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Butter and cocoa powder for greasing

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Whisk in eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in flour until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
