Crispy Calamari Rings

These crispy calamari rings are a perfect appetizer or snack. Coated in a seasoned flour mixture and fried to golden perfection, they’re best served with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g calamari rings
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Dip calamari rings in buttermilk, then coat with the seasoned flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  4. Fry calamari rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the calamari.
