Classic Beef Stroganoff

Classic beef stroganoff is a rich and creamy dish with tender beef and mushrooms in a savory sour cream sauce. It’s perfect served over egg noodles for a hearty and satisfying meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Cooked egg noodles for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  2. Add beef and cook until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook until tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Return beef to the skillet and stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard. Cook until heated through.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
