Cheese and Herb Scones

Cheese and Herb Scones are savory, flaky treats perfect for breakfast or as a side for soups and salads.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 60g cold butter, cubed
  • 100g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 150ml milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cheese and chives.
  5. Pour in milk and mix until just combined.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently roll out to 2cm thickness.
  7. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.
