Classic Margherita Pizza

This classic Margherita pizza features a simple yet flavorful combination of tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. It’s a timeless favorite that’s easy to make and always satisfying.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  4. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Arrange mozzarella slices over the sauce.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and top with fresh basil leaves before serving.
