These chocolate lava cakes are a decadent dessert with a gooey, molten center. Perfect for special occasions or a sweet indulgence.
INGREDIENTS
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Butter and cocoa powder for greasing
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth.
- Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until well combined.
- Whisk in eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Fold in flour until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Let cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
