Classic beef stroganoff is a rich and creamy dish with tender beef and mushrooms in a savory sour cream sauce. It’s perfect served over egg noodles for a hearty and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
- 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Cooked egg noodles for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Add beef and cook until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Return beef to the skillet and stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard. Cook until heated through.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
