Cheese and Herb Scones are savory, flaky treats perfect for breakfast or as a side for soups and salads.
INGREDIENTS
- 250g all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 60g cold butter, cubed
- 100g shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
- 150ml milk
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cheese and chives.
- Pour in milk and mix until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently roll out to 2cm thickness.
- Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
