Classic Tomato Ketchup is a homemade version of the beloved condiment, perfect for burgers and fries.
INGREDIENTS
- 500g ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a pot, combine chopped tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, salt, cloves, paprika, and onion powder.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Blend mixture until smooth, then strain to remove seeds and skins.
- Return to heat and simmer for another 15 minutes until thickened.
- Let cool and store in a bottle or jar.
