This spiced pear crumble features tender, spiced pears topped with a buttery oat crumble. It’s a warm and comforting dessert perfect for any season.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, mix pears with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Transfer the pear mixture to a baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping over the pears.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are tender.
